I just want to go to a sporting event, race track or opera - somewhere that begs me to bring this stunning old Victorian era set of binoculars out of my bag and put them to use. The superb old ivory barrels and eyepieces are so opulent; feel so heavy and decadent in the hands, and with crisp clear lenses, a perfect way to elevate your enjoyment of any event. And when you're not using them, rest them atop a little stack of old leather-bound books on a table top for a perfect vignette in your living room, den or bedroom. The set is beautifully preserved within the original fitted leather case. A wonderful gift idea for Father's Day, as these are extra large and certainly perfect fo ra gentleman's, as well as a lady's use.

Very good condition, the leather case or etui remains in fine form inside and out and has done a superb job of protecting this old set of opera glasses or binoculars from damage. The ivory is creamy and rich, elegant, heavy and cold to the touch. The eyepieces are also ivory, and the only imperfections to note are the quite normal and usual shrinkage cracks that seem so often to be part of ivory antique items. The eyepieces have such shrinkage cracks as do the barrels turned inside, not visible without inspecting closely the inner recess of the barrel, but we disclose them here and tried to get a clear photo for your evaluation of the flaw. At some angles they disappear, and as noted, these are quite normal in old ivory. lenses and adjustments are working properly, great to use. no chips or flaws in lenses.
