Superb Large Antique Tortoise Shell and Sterling Silver Pique Vanity Mirror, Frame

A very rare large vanity table frame in that wonderful cognac to chocolate shell we all love so much, and in exceptionally fine condition, as well. Right down to the old original thick beveled glass mirror, which is in fine form (it has been blurred to eliminate a happenstance portrait of our photographer), and a perfectly fit easel stand on back in beautiful hardwood. This is what you've always wanted to add to your collection of those fabulous Victorian to Edwardian era vanity jars - you know the ones, and it's a struggle for me to think of listing this one for sale, so rare is it to find a vanity mirror like this. But, alas, I haven't any room and my vanity jars are on display in a storage crate, as well, so it will go to someone else. Don't pass by this opportunity, it's an amazing find!

Very good to excellent condition as you see it, without any losses and the mirror, itself, is also in fine clear crisp form and ready to be used. The pique inlays are in English sterling silver, though there's not enough of it to warrant the usual hallmarks. Backing is beautiful enough to be the frontside, so you could certainly use this as a large photo frame rather than vanity mirror, even if the back of frame might be visible, say displayed on a sofa table where front and backsides are in view. Stunningly beautiful, excellent condition. RARE to find, so don't pass it by.

NOTE This item will be handled and shipped from our Utah office, and is not available to California customers, sorry.
