A magnificent Victorian beadwork tea cosy or cozy. A perfect one you'll enjoy using with your own teapot, or take it apart for 2 fabulous panels for you to make up into one of those opulently down-filled and tassle-fringed accent pillows we all love so much. This cosy has fabulous colors and the canvas is in extraordinarily fine condition - supple and perfect for use in your pillowtop. You could go ahead and cosy your tea with it, of course, but it's the kind of panel we all search for for our pillows. Rich colors, very fine condition with only the very minimal amount of bead loss - easily replaced in only a few minutes with your needle and beads. Isn't is just smashing!
Very good condition, as with all our antique tapestry panels, it has been thoroughly sanitized and laundered and carries no dusty musty odors or surface dirt. Clean and clear, it's all ready to work with. A superb panel that very likely represents an entire year's work at the hands of some mid-1800s lady. You can't afford to pay someone to recreate this type of needlework. It was a 19th century women's art, you know, blocked as most were from the art world in general, they played out their creativity in needlework such as this.
