Antique French Sterling Silver Oil & Vinegar Cruet, Ornate

Wonderful antique French Napoleon III to Belle Epoque era sterling silver oil & vinegar cruet stand, unique style with ornate reticulated foliate decoration, tall center handle and foliate feet! Elegant, I just love these old French silver pieces and this one leaves very, very little to be desired. Post -1838 French Minerve or Minerva hallmarks, the small number "1" mark designating .950 silver content (95% pure silver, higher than the .925 standard for sterling silver). The silversmith marks are for 'Ferry' and, while I have not found exact dates, it was made sometime before 1893 (when Ferry was succeeded by Olier & Caron). An exceptional piece, don't miss it!

Very good condition. The bottles appear to be original though the bottoms do not extend all the way into the silver fittings. One or both of the stoppers is not original and we'll see if we have a pair that work better. No damage or repairs to the silver. See pictures for measurements.
