Elegant as they come, this shell faced evening purse is accented by a fine sterling silver frame and center cartouche of enameled sterling, hallmarked for Vienna, and in fine condition throughout. Along with others from a stunning estate collection of antique bags, this soft supple sueded kid leather evening purse is a rare look at the high fashion evening accessories of late 1800s to earliest 1900s Austria and France. Some of the bags were from Austrian makers, attested to by the marks on the sterling silver rims. This is one of those. The maker of this stunning late 1800s bag is Nissel & Sikora (see comparison listed image with an earlier N&S bag we offered a few years ago). Interior is beautifully preserved and complete with the small mirror. No damage at all. You'll love using this one, and it's a charming display bag and the beautiful shell, sterling and enamel front is to die for!

Very good to excellent condition, with one flaws as noted, (one bug bite on shell) consistent with age. Otherwise the beautiful chocolate/cognac shell panel is in fine undamaged condition, and the bag shows well for display or use. Interior is in creamy moire silk and white kid leather and is in super condition, too, complete with the original mirror, etc. and looks to have been stored and little used over time. Stunning!
