Antique 12-Pc HP Game Plates Set, LIMOGES, France - Bawo & Dotter ELITE Works. 1896 - 1920 marks

Elegant Southern tables of the turn of the century were set with gracious manners and beautiful china, heirloom silver - a part of the USA where heritage remains today a time-honored tradition. And so it is of interest that this fine hand painted set of service plates for the game bird course were marketed originally to someone in the Atlanta market area, through Dobbs & Wey, Co., of Atlanta. The tradition of having sets specially made for market through fine shops such as Dobbs & Wey; Ovingtons', NYC; Tiffany, NYC; and others lets us know that this was a coveted set in its day. The signature of the artist remains clearly on each of the plates, and the rich gold border and autumn palette make them a perfect 'heirloom' today. No later than 1920, the set is in amazing condition for age. Fabulous for your Thanksgiving table!

Very good to excellent condition. No chips or cracks on any of the 12. They appear to have been cabinet plates only and do not have utensil abrasions or other damage associated with use. Beautiful!
