Don't you love the color of this Hazel-Atlas Amethyst Depression Glass Cream and Sugar in the Newport pattern? This deep purple color is absolutely gorgeous! Nicknamed, "Hairpin," the pretty molded panels of this pattern come to a point near the bottom, creating a little scallop in between. The sugar and creamer each stand on a scalloped foot.
The sugar and creamer are each 4-inches tall with the spout on the creamer slightly higher at 4-3/8 inches tall. The sugar is 2-7/8 inches in diameter and 5-inches across the handles, and the matching creamer is 2-7/8 inches in diameter, 4-1/8 across the handle and lip. The flower-shaped foot is 2-1/4 inches in diameter.
This unmarked pattern was made by Hazel-Atlas between 1936 and 1940. I find no damage to this set.
