Offering a nice set of early transferware bowls in the Blue willow pattern. The four bowls have 3 different markings on the bottoms. I am quite sure they are English. They date prior to 1891 as there is no country of Origin as required to be shown next to or near the porcelain maker's mark on all imports to the U.S. since 1891 by Act of Congress (Tariff Act). The three marks read: JJ & Co. which could be James Jamieson potters, (2 bowls display this mark). JM & Co. and DM & Co. (please see the pictures of all three marks).
The bowls have a primitive hand wheeled shape as they are not perfectly rounded rims. They vary in diameter from 9" to 9 1/2". all are about 1 1/2" deep. The 4 bowls are in very good condition with no chips or cracks. They have light age appropriate all over crazing to the glaze.
Very nice set of early transferware!
