Schumann Dresden Reticulated Serving Bowl

We offer a beautiful Schumann reticulated porcelain serving bowl in the Dresden Flowers pattern. The Carl Schumann factory operated in Arzburg, Germany (Bavaria) from 1881-1996. Schumann china was famous for its striking resemblance, in both quality and style, to the revered Dresden dinnerware. Employing the same "Rococo revival" decorating techniques as these more prominent manufactures.

Schumann china is known for its colorful fruit and flower patterns as well as their pierced porcelain designs. Set upon a translucent, eggshell white porcelain is what makes Schumann pieces stand out. The bowl measures 9" in diameter and 2 1/2" deep. The base is marked with the blue Schumann under glaze mark with Bavaria and Dresden which dates the piece from 1924 - 1939. The bowl has no chips or cracks but does have age wear to the gold on the rim.
