Noritake Hand Painted Three Piece Mayonnaise Set, Floral Pattern, circa 1918

Finding a mayo bowl with the underplate and ladle in such good condition is remarkable but to find early Noritake is amazing. The hand painted floral pattern incorporates delicate pinks and greens accented by rich sienna. Each piece features the intricate pattern and is trimmed in platinum. This set consists of a 5 3/4" underplate, a 5 1/4" diameter bowl (6" with handles included) and a 5 1/4" curved ladle. The only imperfection is very minor wear to the platinum on the embossed curve of the handle on the spoon. The markings (maroon wreath with center M) on the bowl and ladle date this set to circa 1918. Intended as a mayonnaise server, the 2 1/2" high bowl is useful for whipped cream or light sauce.
