This is a beautiful color combination. It is exceptional in every way...including condition. Please look at all the enlarged pictures.
This one of those early Georgia twin peacock bedspread! The shade of brown is lovely. In the center, are two vibrant colored peacocks surrounded by hearts, gorgeous colored daisies, and curlicues. All of this in shades of brown, beige, red, yellow, purple, green and pink accent colors!
This design is amazingly full, filling every surface with super tufts of chenille. I love the really 'full' fluffy chenille bedspreads!
SIZE: 100" long and 91" wide.
CONDITION: No stains, snags, tears or lost chenille! I already washed this spread before listing it, and it held up beautifully. This is truly a bedspread that can be used. The condition of these older bedspreads is everything, and this one is in excellent pre-owned condition!
HISTORY: These older chenille spreads have a captivating history. From the 1930's till the 1950's, there was a stretch of highway going through Georgia that was referred to as Peacock Alley. Travelers, from the East Coast on their way South for vacations, would see these colorful handmade chenille bedspreads hanging on clotheslines. The local ladies had found a new way to market their gorgeous bright peacock chenille bedspreads and an important cottage industry was born.
