This is a Hobe signed demi parure or small set, consisting of a bracelet and earrings.
The bracelet is unsigned while the earrings are signed HOBE. Designed with multiple rows of coral-pink, white and super sparkly iridescent beads separated by pink rhinestones. All of this is set in a very clean silver tone base, with fancy filigree bead attachments. I have shown this gorgeous bracelet and earrings set against a coral background.
The top of the bracelet has a lavish centerpiece made of multiple moving beads which adds to the flash and glamour. And is OH SO very pretty!
ERA: ca. 1950's. Frequently, Hobe did not sign this type of wrap bracelet. If it was originally sold as a set, the earrings would have been marked.
CONDITION: excellent pre-owned condition. Nice and clean with secure snug memory wire, and strong earring clips.
SIZE: The bracelet is 1" wide and adjustable to fit almost everyone with approx. a 2 ½" opening. The centerpiece is about 2 - 2 1/2" as the beads flash and move. The earrings are 1 1/4" across.
HISTORY: The company was founded by Jacques Hobe, in 1883 in France. After WW-ll William Hobe', the son, moved the company to the U.S.A. In California he made jewelry for the Ziegfeld Follies, and catered to the Hollywood crowd. Hobe jewelry is still being made, but has nothing to do with the original family. Hobe provided jewelry to high end department stores and expensive boutiques. It was the "darling" of Hollywood starlets.
