It seems that some people call these kind of mold "aspic" molds. Maybe some similar molds were used for that sort of dishes in anglo-saxon countries but in Alsace and other german areas this is the typical mold for the so-called "Kugelhopf". This is a very nice dessert : Kugelhopf consists of a soft yeast dough which contains raisins, almonds and possibly Kirschwasser cherry brandy.
This is a medium size mold, we could say that it is the regular Alsatian mold. It is dating from the late 1800'. Despite some chips on the sides and a lack of glaze in the middle the general aspect is very satisfying for an object that has been regularly used for more than a century. If you are into pastry, you could try to cook with it...if not, this is still a very genuine and decorative item quite representative of European folk culture.
