Letter Opener Knife and Tray Porcelain Brass Potschappel Dresden German Vintage

This delicately crafted letter opener consists of a brass blade with a porcelain handle. The handle features intricate hand-painted red tea roses and blue forget-me-nots on a white ground, outlined with a rich cobalt blue and gold swag border. The opener lies in an oblong porcelain tray with identical decorative motifs. On the side of the tray base is a mark of a crown over double "L" with the initials CT in the center, indicative of Potschappel, Dresden, Saxony, Germany, founded by Carl Thieme. It is in perfect condition, no chips, cracks, or repairs.
