Here is fine French Bulle de Savone opaline crystal jewelry or trinket box, dated to the early 20th century, similar boxes and more reference to bulle de savon opaline crystal can be found in the book Les Opalines by Christine Vincendean. This heavy (over 1.5 lb) box painted throughout with colorful flowers and gilt floral accents. Bulle de savon opaline glass is absolutely stunning, the quality is magnificent, and the opaline glass illuminates with a fiery opalescence, literally glowing. The box set into ornate gilded mounts with hinge, which works properly. Signed R. The box is in very good condition with general wear from use, having some light wear to the painted ornamentation, otherwise just fine.
