You might say Donna Karan was born into fashion. With a father who was a tailor, a mother who was a showroom model, and later a step father who was also in the fashion business, Karan worked as the designer of the Anne Klein Collection for 10 years before starting her own collection, the Donna Karan New York Collection, in 1985. Ever since she has won numerous accolades, at least six awards from the Council of Fashion Designers for America, and she was the first American designer to receive Fashion Group International's "Superstar Award" in 2003.
This formal black silk top covered in rectangular-shaped sequins clearly demonstrates Karan's many talents. Because it is a large, and the mannequin is so small, it's hard to get an accurate photo of it. So perhaps the description will help.
It is 18" long from the front of the neckline, and the string-like straps also measure 18" from front to back. They could be adjusted in length quite easily if you know how to sew. The top is 8.5" long in the back. It ties in the back where there is also one snap, and a 2 3/8" overlap of material below the snap.
There are no missing or loose sequins, which indicates it may never even have been worn, or at least not more than once. The photos were taken in natural light with no flash, so you can see how much it sparkles. Please email us if you have any questions. Like all Ruby Lane items, it is returnable for any reason, as long as undamaged, at your cost for return postage only.
