This is a beautiful pair of green cloisonné vases in vibrant green made in China in the 1920's. They have a tight pattern of golden swirls against the green background. The vases are lined inside with brass that extends over the decorated top and bottom of the vases. The vases measure 10" tall and 5" wide. The front of the vases have a tree of life with a large brown trunk and artfully spread branches. Each of the branches is studded with multicolored flowers in segments. The colors are blue, rust, yellow and pink. There is a geometric Orientalist pattern at the top and the bottom of each vase with multiple colors. Each vase is marked Made in China. They are in very good to excellent with no visible crack, breaks or repairs. There is a small degree of pitting and some small losses in paint in the borders. With the Chinese people coming to America to reclaim their arts lost in the cultural revolution, I expect interest to remain high on fine quality pieces such as these.
