Vintage Japanese woodblock print of a group of women by Chikanobu Item # 13799

Circa 1838-1912

14½″ high by 10″ wide

This is a vintage Japanese woodblock prints on rice paper of Geisha ladies in traditional garb made by the artist known as Chikanobu. He was better known for his Sino Japanese war prints which featured famous battles. This is from a series of family and geisha prints that he did later in his life. The woodblock print have recently been framed for the first time in archival materials to save it from decline. It does have well hidden losses or small holes but has not been cut down and is slightly soiled from age. It is fully signed .
