Vintage jewelry is sent USPS priority mail, insurance required (you have the option of waiving insurance - at your own risk - for certain lower priced items). Some smaller, less valuable items may be shipped first class. Jewelry is shipped within 2 business days of cleared payment, unless our shop has an update that says otherwise (vacation, family emergency, etc.) or you are contacted by the shop owner regarding a reasonable delay. Express delivery will cost extra. Ask shop owner for price quote. I pack my jewelry very well, so it will arrive to you in perfect condition. Insurance is required on most items to protect your investment while it "travels".
If you choose not to insure your item in shipping, it is your risk, so our shop cannot be held responsible for damages. For international mail, only priority mail insurance covers your purchases for damage. First class insurance only guarantees that your package will arrive in your mail box. Again, it is a risk you take by choosing the cheaper shipping option. Priority mail international is expensive (Usually $18-$26), but it protects your jewelry investment. It's your choice. International customers are responsible for all customs fees on FINE jewelry items. Please do not expect me to "bend" the rules or break customs laws regarding FINE jewelry (sterling, gold, platinum, diamonds, etc.), since I will be the one held responsible. COSTUME jewelry will be noted as "used costume" on customs forms, and it can legally be notated at its "scrap" value, which is usually less than $25.
We charge a 10% restocking fee on all items returned (unless there was something wrong with the piece(s) or otherwise indicated by the shop owner), priced at $300 or less. All items priced more than $300 will be charged a flat $30 restocking fee. Items priced more than $1,000 will be charged a restocking fee not to exceed $100.
This shop offers a layaway plan for purchases. The Ruby Lane Return Policy does not apply to layaway purchases, and Layaway Plans may vary by shop. It is extremely important to read and understand this shops Layaway Plan below, and clarify any terms with the individual shop owner before you enter into a Layaway Plan agreement.

I DO NOT ACCEPT American Express credit cards via PayPal, since I had a problem with a fraudulent charge back. PAYMENT IS REQUESTED PLEASE WITHIN 3 DAYS. (Personal checks or USPS money orders (only USPS) are expected to arrive within 7 days from the order date. Please make personal checks or money orders payable to: Gay Weintz. Your purchase will not be shipped until your personal check has cleared, which is usually the next business day. Money orders cashed or deposited ship as usual. Thank you!)
CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS
Credit card payments are accepted through PayPal (most credit cards accepted) and Amazon payments.
You can pay through PayPal even if you don't have a PayPal account! I will send you an invoice, and then PayPal will walk you through paying for your item(s) with your credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover). PayPal protects your credit card information during the transaction, and then dumps your info once the sale goes through. It's very easy...just a few clicks and typing in your information!
LAYAWAY Plan & Policies:
We do offer Layaway, so please do inquire about how we can help you finance your wish list! Typically, we require a 33% down payment, and then we'll work with you on setting payments and timeframe so you can pay off the balance without worry. Layaway items do require fairly prompt payments within these agreed upon guidelines. If follow-up payments (for remaining balance) are not made within a reasonable amount of time after the due date(s), the buyer will forfeit 25% of their down payment and the item will be returned to our shop for sale. If you run into a problem with making your balance payments, please do contact us. We will do our best to work with you so we can finalize the sale and you can enjoy your item.
INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS: SHIPPING & CUSTOMS
Customs prohibits the shipping of jewelry to some international countries...or some require shipping by Priority Mail International. If an international order is placed and I cannot fulfill it, please understand I am following rules and regulations established by our government (and probably yours). If you choose not to pay the higher price for International Priority shipping, you are taking a risk. Even if it's registered with first class, that only guarantees the package arrives in your mailbox. Only Priority Mail International covers your purchase for damage in shipping. Please consider this when making a choice on shipping options. If a package is stuck in customs, shipped first class international, our hands are tied. We have no way of finding out how long your package will be held. Even shipped priority, sometimes we are not able to get definite information as to when your package will be released. We will do our best to help locate your package (Priority mail).
