Our Service Pledge

I am available to process your order during regular business hours, sometimes into the early evening, and will contact you by email the same day an actual Purchase Order is placed (unless I am sleeping...lol). I welcome your questions and comments regarding anything in the shop. I guarantee all of my items to be as described and of the finest quality vintage. Every Item is selected for its beauty, condition, and value. There are several thousand vintage treasures on display for purchase and/or being readied for sale in the near future, so please feel free to browse at your leisure and make inquiries. Email is available to you 24 hours a day and a reply will be sent by the next business day. I am happy to be of service to you and will work hard to earn your trust and repeat business. All items are shipped quickly~within 2-3 business days~after receipt of payment through PayPal. If you need Express shipping, please email me and I will try my best to accommodate you. (Extra shipping charges will apply). FYI, many areas of the country east of the Mississippi still require 2 days to receive deliveries from Arizona by Express Mail products, whether shipped through the USPS or other carriers. One day service generally will only apply to areas West of the Mississippi.

Shipping, Handling, Insurance Policy

All regular priced Sewing Patterns and Postcards Ship Free In The U.S! Other items will have their shipping costs designated in the individual listings. Insurance is required and paid by the customer on all items that require it as such in the listing (breakables, very rare or valuable items). The shipping method will be chosen at the shop's discretion. If an item would normally be shipped by First Class mail, including jewelry, etc. and faster shipping is requested, your item will be upgraded to Priority Mail at a fee listed in the shipping options. Shipping Items such as clothes, shoes, hats, purses, vanity items, etc. that would ship by Priority Mail will be upgraded to Express Mail within the U.S., if requested, for an additional charge. If special 2-Day delivery is requested, the extra cost will be calculated and added to the invoice, once we are aware of your need for that fastest service. I do gift box all of my jewelry to be sure it arrives safely. Insurance should be purchased for every package, particularly at the Holiday season. Precious treasures deserve to be protected, and I can no longer guard them once an item leaves my Warehouse. All mailed payments must clear before purchased items can be shipped. Money Order and electronic or paperless check payments sent through the PayPal web site generally clear in 3-5 days. Purchases that indicate PayPal has been chosen as the method of payment need to be paid within 5 days. I reserve the right to accept only a Confirmed PayPal address in the U.S., particularly when an address is not consistent with the registered Ruby Lane account information. I do pack with great care, but cannot be responsible for any uninsured item's condition once it leaves the shop. If a package shipped within the U.S. is returned to me for any reason that is not my fault, the buyer will be responsible for all charges to reship the item (s).
Please email me if you have an intent to return any item, per Ruby Lane's site wide policy. The purchased item needs to be returned for inspection before a refund can be issued, and the item must be in the exact condition as it was when it was shipped to you. Money paid for shipping charges cannot be returned. The Post Office does not refund paid postage and the money has been paid to them, not to me. I do not ship to APO/AE addresses as of August 1, 2004 due to increased security concerns.

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: Please email me for a shipping quote PRIOR to committing to the purchase of any shop item if you are in doubt as to the total cost. Postal rates vary widely from country to country and items not able to be shipped by flat rate envelope will need to be shipped according to USPS weight tables. Most small items can be combined for one shipping charge; for example, up to a dozen postcards, 4 sewing patterns or pieces of jewelry can ship in one Priority International envelope for a single $12.00 USD charge. I ONLY accept payments sent through PayPal for purchase orders originating outside of the U.S, including Canada. Non-U.S. shoppers must be Verified by PayPal before we can ship to you in your home country. Customers in the United Kingdom and Canada should also have a Confirmed address, if possible. Becoming Verified is simple, and protects you against identity theft. PayPal is a very easy, quick and safe service to use, Verisign-secured, and all types of credit cards are accepted. I appreciate your business and welcome your inquiries. I want my transaction with you to be a smooth and successful one. All packages are shipped via the fastest and most affordable method to overseas locales. Insurance is required on all breakable items to any country where it is available. Some items may not be available for International sales and are indicated as such in the listing. Customs forms will be filled out ACCURATELY and completely, and all packages will have a printed invoice with contents and prices inside. Do be aware of possible Duty charges levied in your country such as VAT when selecting merchandise you wish to purchase. I cannot estimate those charges for you in advance and will not falsify the contents as a 'Gift' or state a cheaper cost. PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL me complaining about the costs you have been charged once Duty is levied! If you do not accept delivery of your package and it is returned to me as Abandoned after 30 days, no refund will be issued as I will have to pay the charges of return shipping for the items you did not accept.

Restocking Fee

Should there be any kind of an issue with something you purchased from me when your package arrives, it would be best to notify me right away. Do NOT simply return items without notifying the shop by email or phone (my phone number is on the invoice and my business card, both of which are included in your package). Please read Ruby Lane's site wide Returns policy to familiarize yourself with the procedures involved. I will do my very best to make you happy with your purchases from me. I am very picky myself and will not sell you anything I wouldn't buy or collect. I consider you a friend I just haven't met yet, or a valued friend that I look forward to seeing again soon! No matter what the problem, hopefully we can work it out, just as friends do. In any case, there is a 20% restocking fee charge on all returned items, deducted from the proposed refund amount. Please read measurements and descriptions CAREFULLY as well as scrutinizing pictures and asking questions before placing your Purchase Order so you will not be disappointed. Other Information

All of my items are "new" old department store stock, or gently used high-quality estate items. Every item will be described honestly and accurately, to the best of my ability. In the event of the rare unintentional error or omission in the advertisement of any store item, I reserve the right to cancel a Purchase Order to make the necessary correction to the item's description so that the description of what you are buying is absolutely correct. **PLEASE SEE THE VINTAGE RATING GUIDE to understand how I classify my merchandise's condition.** I check every item carefully, scrutinizing the details as you would do if you were here with me. In the event I have missed something that is important to you, please email and I will check it out and 'fill in the blanks' for you! :-)
